March 10, 2010 B Shift responded to an early season brush fire that quickly spread out of control due to an unseasonably warm weather patter. The fire occured when a resident was attempting to burn some grass, and the wind quickly spread the fire to the hillside where the light fuels caught fire. Chief Ruggles requested the first alarm be transmitted due to the heavy volume of smoke and reports that the fire was spreading up the hillside quickly. A hoseline was stretched into the woods and the fire was stopped from advancing by an agressive fire attack by the first arriving engine. Extensive overhaul kept the firefighters busy for sometime. Units responding to the incident: E1, E3, and C1
