Rescue 2

Rescue 2 arrived at Headquarters and will be placed in service within the next several weeks. The department is in the process of mounting and locating equipment on the apparatus. Rescue 2 will serve as the primary response vehicle to motor vehicle accidents and other rescue calls, as well as the third due Engine to working fires. Engine 2 will be taken out of service as Rescue 2 is phased in.

Rescue 2 will carry a full compliment of hydraulic and manual extrication tools as well as a full set of high pressure lifting bags. Other specialized equipment includes, Res-q-jak stabilization jacks, circular saw, chain saws, portable power tools, hydraulics jacks, rope rescue gear, thermal imaging camera, RIT pack and hazardous material response gear.

The unit is classified as a Class A pumper for firefighting capabilities, and will be able to respond as an attack piece if needed.
